Dedicated Hosting vs. VPS Hosting
Dedicated Hosting vs. VPS
In the vast world of web hosting, the majority of people these days are only aware of personal web hosting companies, generally referred to as shared hosting. Personal web hosting is the least expensive type of web hosts, though it is said to not be very effective due to the fact that more than one domain is being ran/hosted on a single account. The reason that many switch to dedicated hosting and/or VPS is that these kinds of web hosting allow users to supply resources for one specific website. Though, dedicated hosting and VPS are different, and below we will discuss the two separately. After reading this, webmasters will have a much better idea of which is the best type of hosting for you.
Firstly, as briefly mentioned above, both are great types of web hosting. Why? Dedicated and VPS are considerably faster and more reliable than the regular personal web hosting. Evidently, with more resources, more speed, and a more reliable type of hosting, these two are also more expensive than personal web hosting. Nonetheless, users will get their money’s worth.
VPS Hosting
Now, VPS is slightly different than dedicated hosting. VPS hosting still does involve more than one site on one server. Though, even there can be more than one site on a single server, each website will have its own resources as a website would with dedicated hosting. Many users prefer VPS hosting because websites can still be managed easily from one place, while having their own resources at the same time. Having separate resources evidently boosts speed and efficiency of websites, in comparison to personal web hosting plans that share the resources available among several websites.
Dedicated Hosting
Dedicated hosting is different than both VPS hosting and personal hosting. With dedicated hosting, each website has its own separate server. This means that every website has its own resources, thus functioning much faster and more effectively. With dedicated hosting, there is usually no down time, and each website has mass amounts of storage. Evidently, this website is preferred among those running larger websites, because they have more resources for their website. It is the only type of web hosting that has a one to one ratio (one website per one server) which is the reason it has, and is becoming more popular in the web world.
Versaweb offers the most reliable and affordable dedicated servers available.
Conclusion
Needless to say, VPS is generally cheaper than dedicated hosting, but if you are a big webmaster, we recommend you go with dedicated hosting (especially if your website is quite popular or you are running a high volume online store). If not, VPS is also a great type of web hosting for those not running websites requiring as much resources. VPS and dedicated hosting have started to take over personal web hosting. Even though the price of personal web hosting is attractive, more and more people are realizing that personal web hosting does not often offer the resources required by webmasters. This is causing a large change from people using personal web hosting to VPS or dedicated hosting.

A VPS is a great option when you can’t afford the high costs of a dedicated server. Of course, you always want to make sure you have a solid gauge of what your website needs. I have seen too many people highly underestimate their website.
