Yahoo! is closing down the ng free web hosting service GeoCities (geocities.yahoo.com),.
On GeoCities homepage, it’s written: “after careful consideration, we have decided to close GeoCities later this year,”
GeoCities, perhaps the most well known of the free web hosting services was acquired by Yahoo! for $2.87 billion in 1999. An FAQ information page directs users to sign up for paid Yahoo! web hosting accounts.
